The tale of an authentic Geuze brewery

Our journey begins with a guided tour of the Oud Beersel Brewery. Our guides introduce you to how spontaneous fermentation and wild yeasts are used to brew Lambic and how important blending Oude Geuze and Oude Kriek is to the process.
Naturally, you'll get to taste the 'Oude Geuze' (and a Kriek infused chocolate) while you're there.
Afterwards, we'll take a stroll through the brewery's 'Kriekerij' out into the wilderness, where the views of Brussels and its surroundings are as beautiful as they are impressive.

Beersel Castle

It was in 1489 that Beersel Castle was bombarded by an angry French militia bent on thwarting the rule of Maximilian I, the then Holy Roman Emperor.
So, what's the point in telling you this now?
Well, it was just behind the Oud Beersel Brewery that the cannon shots were fired. We'll fill you in on the details of this historical event during the nature walk.
Once we reach Beersel Castle, we'll give you a brief introduction to the basics about it.
The day rounds of perfectly with a chance to sample a true Lambic beer!
